Jennifer Lawson is an American journalist and blogger. She is the author of The Bloggess and Ill Advised blogs, co-author of Good Mom/Bad Mom on the Houston Chronicle and a columnist for SexIs Magazine. She is best known for her irreverent writing style. She also used to write an advice column named "Ask The Bloggess" for PNN until she quit because they stopped paying her.[2]. She has rheumatoid arthritis[3] OCD [4], depression [5] and an anxiety disorder [6].

Her personal blog is extremely popular, averaging close to half a million page views a month. She was recognized by the Nielsen ratings as one of the Top 50 Most Powerful Mom Bloggers[7] and Forbes listed thebloggess.com as one of their Top 100 Websites for Women.[8] She was a finalist in the 2010 Weblog awards for Best Writing and Most Humorous Writer,[9] and a finalist in the 2011 Weblog awards for Best Writing, Most Humorous Writer and Weblog of the Year.[10] In 2011 The Huffington Post named her the "Greatest Person of the Day" for her work in raising money for struggling families in December 2010.[11] She was also interviewed on CBC News Network's Connect with Mark Kelley during the fundraising campaign.[12]

Some of the more notable things The Bloggess has done to date includes starting a public feud with William Shatner which was covered by MSNBC, made #Wolverines a trending topic on Twitter, smuggled a Cuban alligator onto an airplane because she believed it needed an adventure, started a Meme with Wil Wheaton to discourage bad PR pitches, held a Zombie Apocalypse Drill at Ignite Evo '11, and holds parties in public bathrooms.[13] She collects taxidermed animals including a boar's head named James Garfield,[14] a gambling squirrel named Grover Cleveland,[15] and a monkey named Copernicus.[16]

She is currently writing a memoir, to be published by Amy Einhorn Books.[17]
